Rep. Peter King (R, NY) said last Friday that Sen. Ted Cruz (R, TX) is a fraud (CNN). As crazy as it sounds (and we know King is capable of his own level of crazy) he just might be correct.
Several things about Ted Cruz have always seemed wrong. How does a well educated (Princeton and Harvard) Hispanic (his father was born in Cuba) person like him become leader of the Tea-Bag movement? His parents were well educated. He attended a religious high school, but it does not appear from his bio that he was extremely religious. His parents were involved in oil (that is what took them to Canada) doing seismic testing work there. According to Wikipedia"Referring to Cruz's time as a student at Harvard Law, Professor Alan Dershowitz said, "Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant."" Smart people rarely end up arguing philosophical positions based on religiously inspired zealotry.
What if Peter King is right and Cruz is really an extremely successful imposter, playing Tea-bagger better and harder than anyone else with the intent of eventually revealing this and telling them what a bunch of idiots they really are?
It isn't all that hard for me to believe that he could bamboozle them like that, because I did it, to a much lesser extent, during the 2012 election.
